Kajabi Expert Agents: The New Kajabi Chatbot That Makes Your Course Smarter

On June 1, 2026, Kajabi rolled out a new feature that I believe is important for anyone offering courses, memberships, or coaching programs through Kajabi: Kajabi Expert Agents.
Kajabi now has internal AI chatbots that can help inside your course environment. Maybe you have used creator.io before? That was an external Kajabi tool for creating chatbots for your website. The new Kajabi Agents are really the 2.0 version of that.
And yes, this may sound like “just another AI feature,” but this is one to take seriously. Not because an AI chatbot is special by itself. Chatbots have been around for years. But because a chatbot only becomes truly valuable when it has the right knowledge.
That is where things often go wrong.
A regular chatbot gives general answers. But when your student is in the middle of a lesson and gets stuck, that is not very helpful. You want a chatbot that understands your course. Not the entire internet. Not a vague general answer. But your lessons, your explanation, your structure, and your way of working.
That is exactly why Kajabi Expert Agents are interesting.

From chatbot to real course assistant
With Kajabi Expert Agents, Kajabi is taking a clear step toward AI support inside your own platform. You no longer need a separate chatbot tool next to Kajabi. The assistant lives inside Kajabi itself and uses your own Kajabi content as its knowledge source.
For courses, the Kajabi Teaching Assistant is especially important. This is an AI assistant that can answer member questions based on your lessons, and only from the lessons that student has access to.
That last part matters.
If someone has access to course A, but not to course B, they will not receive answers from course B. The chatbot can be connected to multiple products, but it answers based on the products available in that specific student’s account.
That makes this Kajabi chatbot much more useful than a general AI chat. It uses lessons, text, transcripts, and, if connected, relevant community content too.
For example, a student could ask:
“Where do you explain how to do step X again?”
Or:
“I don’t understand how exercise Y works. Where should I start?”
Or:
“Which lesson covers setting up my payment page?”
If your course is well structured and your content is properly available, the Teaching Assistant can quickly guide the student to the right place. Follow the chats through the Universal Inbox
Kajabi uses the Universal Inbox as a central place for conversations. In a broader sense, Kajabi can bring different conversations together there, including your Facebook and Instagram chats. But in this blog, I am mainly looking at its role in chatbot conversations.
When a student talks to the Kajabi chatbot, you as the creator or a team member can read the conversation through the Universal Inbox. You can see what someone is looking for, what question they asked, what the chatbot answered, and where they may be getting stuck.
And when needed, you can take over the conversation. That may be the most important part of this entire development. Because the power is not only in automation. The power is in the combination of AI and human oversight. You get better insight into what your students are looking for, where they struggle, and where your course may need to be clearer.
Jiffy templates are ready for Kajabi Expert Agents

Do you use one of our templates? Then you can download the latest version and add the Kajabi Teaching Assistant to your course environment.
With our newest template, Nexus, this works in an especially beautiful way. In Nexus, the assistant can be used as a popup from the sidebar at any moment. That fits very well with how Nexus is built. The sidebar is not just a menu. It is the place where everything comes together: navigation, lessons, downloads, rewards, favorites, community, and now also support through the Kajabi chatbot.
And that matters. Because a chatbot works better when it is a logical part of the course environment. Not hidden somewhere. Not as a separate gimmick. But exactly where the student is already working.
How to update your JiffyCoursesOnline course template
If you use a Jiffy course template, first make sure you are using the latest version of your template.
Here is how it works:
- Log in at JiffyCoursesOnline.com.
- Go to your course product in the Library.
- Download the latest version of your template.
- Then go to your own Kajabi account.
- Find your course, click Customize, and then click the three dots.
- Choose Export template first to create a backup.
- Then click the three dots again.
- Choose Update template.
- Drag the latest template version you just downloaded onto the screen.
I always recommend making an export first. That gives you an extra backup of your current version. If anything happens during the update, you can always go back.
How to set up the
Kajabi Teaching Assistant
Once your template has been updated, you can create the Teaching Assistant in Kajabi.
This does not have to be complicated. In general, it works like this:
- Check that your product is published.
The Teaching Assistant works with published Kajabi products. - Make sure your content is usable for the assistant.
Kajabi can use text from your lessons. For videos, captions or transcripts are needed. Kajabi can create these captions automatically with AI credits. If your credits have run out, you can also use Descript or another video tool to create transcripts or captions. - Create a Teaching Assistant through Kajabi Agents.
In Kajabi, go to Agents and choose the Teaching Assistant template. - Connect the right products.
You can connect multiple products. The chatbot can therefore have knowledge of multiple courses, but a student only receives answers from products they actually have access to. - Add clear instructions.
This is more important than many people think. You do not want the bot to randomly fill in the blanks. So tell it what tone to use, that it may only answer based on your course content, and that it should not make anything up. An example instruction could be: “Give friendly and clear answers. Only use information from the connected course content. Do not make up answers. If you are not sure about the answer, ask a follow-up question or refer the student to the community or support email address.” - Place the assistant in your course.
Go to Customize in your course and add a new Teaching Assistant block in the sidebar or on the dashboard, depending on your theme and template. Then choose whether you want the agent to appear as a block or as a floating button in the bottom-right corner of the page. And do not forget to select your new agent. - Test as a real student.
Important: testing as an admin does not work in the same way. As an admin, you may not receive an answer because you have not formally purchased the product. So always test with a member account that actually has access to the product. Pro tip: do this in a different browser than the one you use for your Kajabi admin.
A good chatbot starts with good content
The arrival of Kajabi Expert Agents does not mean the structure of your course becomes less important. To be honest, I think the opposite is true.
An AI assistant can only help well if your course is logically structured. If your lessons have clear titles. If your videos have captions. If your explanation is clear. If your course environment does not feel like a folder full of loose files, but like a learning experience where someone can easily find their way.
Pro tip: For our tutorials, I did not explain every obvious feature through videos. That is why I added one extra lesson called AI Features. This is a list of all the available options. At the top, it says that the lesson is not interesting for the living student. But because of this extra lesson, the AI bot knows everything that is possible with our templates.
That is why this chatbot fits so well with what we try to do with our templates. Gamification, better navigation, clear dashboards, collections, downloads, rewards, and now also a smart Kajabi chatbot: they are all ways to guide a student better.

Kajabi chatbots are not a replacement for you
I think this is important to keep saying.
A Kajabi chatbot does not replace you. And you should not want it to.
What it can do is handle the first layer of questions. It can send students to the right lesson faster. It can help when someone gets stuck. It can prevent simple questions from sitting unanswered until you are back behind your laptop.
But when someone needs personal help, you can still step in through the Universal Inbox. The bot helps where it can. You take over where needed.
That, to me, is the future of good online courses: not less human, but more intelligently supported.
